We have sucessfully handed over on time and within budget our largest project so far. Its great to see the Grade II listed £6 Million Hydes Brewery project opened after 18 months and providing attractive spacious apartments.
The modifications and adaptions of the old Victorian buildings into inspiring, exciting living spaces was technically a challenging process on all levels. From a Design Engineering perspective through to the difficulties of removing redundant commercial infrastructure such as steel brewing equipment the project has been a real test of ingenuity and skill. Practical building solutions were needed to repair the old brick structures and provide them with modern living utilites such as drainage ventilation and data etc. Marrying this with a new build design and modern internal fixtures and fittings gives the whole project a contemporary feel and brings the project into the 21st Century.
It was a close run thing but, once again Colbre has beaten all the odds and have passed the finish line at Rathmell Hall in York. Despite being faced with a delayed start, Colbre were able to complete this conversion of a Grade II listed office building in the Historic centre of York into high end Student Accommodation comprising 62 studio apartments with en-suite facilities. With close monitoring of the programme with our key subcontractors W.M. Dyer Ltd and Parker Phs Ltd it has enabled Colbre to trim two weeks off the contract programme in time for the student invasion for York.
Well while most of the country is still waiting for Spring to arrive we have decided to Spring into action. Colbre is moving into bigger offices within the same building so all being well not much disruption to sites and services. Our telephone number and email has not changed so all the outside world should notice will be a short downtime around lunchtime 30th March while we move the server. We are hoping to get the main line diverted to my mobile so all will be good.
Well, a much need revamp of the website is now available for all to see and thanks to the patience of Daniel at ISSL Website Design in Bury we have finally gone live. The site shows a fresher image of Colbre with many of our more recent projects in full colour with photos from our local photographer Tony Jones.
